Kentucky Takes Sweet Sixteen in Deciding Game Friday, May 28th , 2055 Depending on your loyalties, the Sweet Sixteen was either thrilling or heartbreaking. The series went down to its final game, with the Kentucky Wildcats and the Washington State Cougars giving their fans plenty of drama. In the end, the Wildcats came out on top, winning 9-8 at Cliff Hagan Stadium today to take the series 2-1. "We're lucky to be going into the Elite 8," said Kentucky pitcher Grady Monroe. "If all the series are like this, it'll definitely be an entertaining postseason." Monroe earned series MVP honors, hitting for a .357 average, with 2 home runs, 6 RBI and 3 runs scored.
