Holmes Ups Hit Streak to 20 Consecutive Games Wednesday, April 4th, 2040 Win or lose, Ray Holmes just keeps on getting base hits -- game after game after game. He picked up 1 more today and has now stretched his hitting streak to 20 games. The Purdue Boilermakers center fielder went 1-for-3 today, but it wasn't enough to win the game. His club was defeated 19-7 by the California Golden Bears at Evans Diamond. "It's amazing to watch him hit right now, but I don't think anybody's really mentioning it," one of his teammates said. "We just don't want to jinx him." Ray Holmes grounded out in the 1st, grounded out in the 2nd and doubled in the 4th. Holmes is hitting .531 so far this season with 10 RBIs and 8 runs scored.
