6-for-7 Day for Lilly Thursday, April 16th , 2054 It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 6-for-7 day. For many, it might come around only once in a career -- and for Patrick Lilly, it came around today. The 19-year-old second baseman scattered hits all over Sunken Diamond to pace the 18-4 Stanford Cardinal victory over the Oklahoma Sooners. Oklahoma skipper Lúcio Estrada told reporters in the press room that "Lilly deserves a hat-tip." "He hit some good pitches against us," he said. "In fact, according to our scouting reports, Lilly hit several that he is not supposed to be able to hit." Patrick Lilly doubled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Tony Hamilton in the 5th, singled in the 6th, flied out in the 7th and hit a GRAND SLAM off Lou Smith in the 8th.
