Grove Goes on Rampage Against Blue Devils Thursday, April 16th , 2054 No matter what the Duke Blue Devils threw at him, Barry Grove hit it. He easily handled Blue Devils pitching, going 5 for 6 and helping the Cornhuskers triumph, 18-6, at Jack Coombs Field. "The way I was swinging, I think I could have closed my eyes and hit the ball," he told BNN reporters in the postgame interview. Told of Grove's quip, Blue Devils skipper Keith Heffner said he "would take him up on that next time." Barry Grove walked in the 1st, hit a two-run double in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Jack Bell in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit a two-run home run off Ryan Knight in the 7th, walked in the 8th and grounded out in the 9th.
