Taylor Crafts 2-0 Shutout
Wednesday, April 29th , 2054
The Oregon State Beavers did little to support starter Dennis Taylor against the Washington State Cougars, but it turned out he didn't need the help.
The right-hander spun a complete game shutout against the Cougars, striking out 11 and surrendering 3 hits. The performance from Taylor allowed Oregon State to escape with the 2-0 win, despite an anemic offense.
"Nobody came to me and said, 'Dennis, we're gonna need you to win this one for us today,' but I could feel it," Taylor told BNN reporters following the win. "I'm the guy that will step up for you when you need it."
Taylor has made 7 starts, tossed 54.2 innings, struck out 55 batters and walked 23. His record is 4-1 with a 2.30 ERA and he has limited other teams to a .227 batting average.
