Hill Hurls Hoyas to Shutout Victory Saturday, May 2nd , 2054 The Florida Gators manager was philosophical in the clubhouse following a shutout loss to the Georgetown Hoyas. The Gators were overpowered by Georgetown starter Alex Hill, who hurled his club to victory, 8-0. "It was just one of those games -- shake it off and do better next time," Javier Vázquez said. Over 9 innings, Hill blanked Florida on 4 hits with 2 walks and 9 strikeouts. "I kept them off balance. I could tell a lot of them were late on fastballs because they were fouling them off. Once you see that, it sets them up for other pitches," Hill said. "I set them up, where if they chased one breaking ball, they were going to chase another one." Hill has made 8 starts so far this year and put up a 6-0 won-lost record with a 1.48 ERA. In 60.2 innings he has allowed 52 hits, walked 23 and struck out 74. View Boxscore View Game Log |
