Atkinson Hits for the Cycle Saturday, May 9th , 2054 Jim Atkinson showed off his speed, his power and his plate discipline at Jackie Robinson Stadium, putting together all facets of his game to hit for the cycle in the UCLA win. The 19-year-old catcher went 4-for-5, collecting 1 single, 1 double, 1 triple and 1 home run to help the Bruins top the Seton Hall Pirates by a score of 9-2. A jubilant Atkinson told reporters afterward that the experience was "unimaginable." "Seriously, I would have been happy going 1-for-5 with just the double," he said. "So this feels incredible." For the day, Atkinson finished with 4 runs batted in and 3 runs scored to go with his 4 hits. Jim Atkinson doubled in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Trey Hudson in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI triple in the 6th and flied out in the 7th.
