Fighting Illini Hodge Raps 3 Homers Saturday, May 16th , 2054 Illinois first baseman Andy Hodge led the Fighting Illini to a triumph, 14-12, over the Washington State Cougars, crushing three home runs. "He's scary good when he's swinging the bat like that," said Illinois skipper Francisco Ríos. Indeed, Hodge put up some "scary good" numbers: three homers, 4 hits in 5 at-bats with 3 runs and 7 RBIs. "I'm just thinkin' about winning ballgames," Hodge said. "When you think about home runs, you very seldom get 'em." Andy Hodge flied out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Andy Cain in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off Kel Brooks in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Bubba Sears in the 7th.
