Woodard Socks It to Xavier 3 Times Tuesday, April 4th , 2051 Texas Tech Red Raiders left fielder Steve Woodard had a magnificent game against the Xavier Musketeers today, rocketing three balls out of Dan Law Field to help the Red Raiders take the 8-7 victory. "I got some good pitches to hit and I creamed them," he said after the game. "The first was a big, fat fastball and the last two were hanging curves. All three were mistakes." For the game, Woodard went 4-for-6 with 4 RBIs and 3 runs scored. "There's a fine line between hitting home runs and line drives," Texas Tech manager Owen Rigney said later. "Seems like Steve found his home run stroke today." Steve Woodard hit a two-run home run off Wes Parker in the 1st, walked in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Jack Fairchild in the 7th, struck out in the 9th, grounded out in the 11th and hit a solo-shot off Jim Peoples in the 13th. Currently Woodard has 4 home runs and a .406 batting average. |
