Field Blasts 3 into Bleachers Wednesday, April 5th , 2051 Fans are still buzzing after Auburn whipped the Alabama Crimson Tide by the score of 9-3 today at Sewell-Thomas Stadium. Jessie Field smashed three home runs in the contest, a feat that would be a career highlight for most players and few fans ever see. In a tremendous performance, the first baseman bashed out 3 hits in 4 at-bats, had 5 RBIs and scored 3 times. At the postgame press conference, Field said it was an "unbelievable" feeling to hit three home runs in a game. "Getting one homer is special, and two is great," Field said. "Three is just... wow." Jessie Field hit a solo-shot off Chris Dixon in the 2nd, hit a three-run home run off Chris Dixon in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Chris Dixon in the 5th, walked in the 7th and flied out in the 9th. This season in 9 games, Field has hit at a .486 clip with 17 hits, 7 home runs, 16 RBIs and 14 runs scored. |
