Friday Sensational, 5-for-8
Tuesday, April 8th , 2053
It was a sensational day at the plate for Al Friday as he led the charge to a nifty 26-12 win over the Tigers. The Arizona State third baseman was pure misery for the Missouri pitching staff. He left them shell-shocked with 5 hits in 8 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting.
"Friday put the ball into play and he really hit it hard," said Marcos Reyes, manager for the Tigers, after the game. "When you do that, you've got a good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw some good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball."
Al Friday singled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, hit a GRAND SLAM off Doug Thompson in the 3rd, struck out in the 4th, flied out in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off Gene Ryan in the 7th, hit an RBI single in the 8th and flied out in the 9th.
This year, Friday is batting .269 with 14 hits, 4 home runs, 11 RBIs, 5 walks, .333 OBP and has scored 9 runs.
