Cyclones Blanked by Johnson Sunday, April 16th , 2051 In an outstanding outing, Stanford Cardinal starter Matt Johnson tamed the Iowa State Cyclones with a 5-hit shutout at Sunken Diamond today. The Stanford hurler went the distance, finishing with 7 strikeouts and 2 walks in the 2-0 win. "He had a lot of first-pitch strikes and kept us off balance with a lot of off-speed stuff," according to Iowa State manager Juan Jose Rojas. "We just didn't get too many balls squared up today."
