Moonshots: Suárez Knocks 4 out of Sight
Sunday, April 16th , 2051
Hitting a single home run is a tough task. Hitting two in a game is impressive. Hitting three is remarkable. Anything beyond that is borderline unbelievable -- yet that's what Víctor Suárez did today in the 23-4 North Carolina Tar Heels victory over the Oklahoma State Cowboys.
Suárez went 4-for-5 with 4 home runs and drove in 9 runs in a once-in-a-lifetime feat that the opposing manager later labeled "impossible."
"I don't believe it really happened," Cowboys manager Ramón Fonseca joked to BNN reporters afterward. "I don't ever enjoy losing a game, but this kid was special today. I have never seen a guy hit 4 in a game before. I didn't enjoy it, but it was special."
Víctor Suárez hit a three-run home run off Ferrie Schop in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Ferrie Schop in the 3rd, walked in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Carlos Guerrero in the 5th, flied out in the 6th and hit a three-run home run off Al Phillips in the 8th.
In 19 games this season Suárez has batted at a .346 pace with 28 hits and 10 home runs.
