5-for-6 Day for Rivera Monday, April 14th , 2053 There are moments in a player's career that they will not soon forget. José Rivera of the Butler Bulldogs had one such moment at Ray Fisher Stadium, when he went 5 for 6 at the plate. His hitting heroics weren't enough to pull out the victory, however, and Butler succumbed to defeat, 17-16, to the Michigan Wolverines. "This was quite a day for me individually, but a little disheartening at the same time," the 18-year-old third baseman told reporters in the postgame interview. "It would have been very special if we had won the game." José Rivera flied out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Terence Miller in the 6th, hit a GRAND SLAM off Danny Harris in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.
