John Reyes Hurt, Will Miss Rest of Year
Wednesday, April 19th , 2051
Michigan closer John Reyes could miss the remainder of the season because of a torn ulnar collateral ligament. He exited yesterday's Xavier game after injuring himself while throwing a pitch. The original diagnosis said Reyes would be out 13-14 months. Later on his doctors said he could be out even longer. "He's done," his manager commented at the BNN press conference. "It's a season-ending injury, but it could have been worse. It's not the worst-case scenario, so we're happy about that."

This year Reyes has no saves. In 9 relief appearances he has hurled 10.2 innings, fanned 12 and given up 10 walks with a 1-0 record. The Michigan reliever has recorded a 3.38 ERA and allowed the opposition to hit .238 when he is in the game.
