Gutiérrez 5-for-6 for Huskies
Thursday, April 17th , 2053
It takes more than one player to win a baseball game - as proven by Júlio Gutiérrez of the Connecticut Huskies.
The Connecticut center fielder gave it his all and dominated Creighton Blue Jays pitching at J.O. Christian Field, finishing with a great 5-for-6 line. However, when the game ended, the scoreboard showed the Blue Jays going home the winner, 13-9.
"There's no point gloating about a 5-hit day in a loss," Gutiérrez said. "A loss just means you should have done more. Maybe I should have hit 5 home runs instead."
Júlio Gutiérrez doubled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, tripled in the 8th and flied out in the 9th.
For the year, Gutiérrez has hit .349 with 1 home run, 11 RBIs and scored 16 runs.
