Tar Heels Woods Smacks 5 Hits Friday, April 21st , 2051 5 times is the charm -- at least for Jerry Woods. The North Carolina Tar Heels second baseman tore up the Louisiana State Tigers to the tune of 5 hits in 6 at-bats at Alex Box Stadium today. The offensive onslaught from Woods powered the Tar Heels to a 7-6 win. "Woods was a tough out today," Louisiana State manager Leroy Sibbald said to the press in the postgame interview. "He hit some very good pitches with that quick bat of his. Not an easy out, that's for sure." Jerry Woods doubled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Pedro Rúbio in the 5th, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI triple in the 8th and grounded out in the 10th.
