5-Hit Blitz by Norris
Friday, April 18th , 2053
Georgia shortstop Stephen Norris went down swinging at Foley Field, knocking out 5 hits even as his Bulldogs fell, 10-9.
"It was like I was hitting Little League pitching," Norris said after his 5-for-6 performance against the Baylor Bears. "No offense meant to Baylor, but it was like I was back in little league again -- I could see the ball that well."
After the game, his manager elaborated on the shortstop's improvements, saying Norris spent the offseason trying to shorten his swing and stay inside the ball.
"That's what I'm trying to do," Norris agreed. "Be quick to the ball and let it travel a little farther so I get a better look at it."
Stephen Norris singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Ron Montgomery in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off David Waller in the 8th, singled in the 11th and struck out in the 13th.
This season, Norris is swinging the bat at a .260 pace. He has hit 3 home runs and scored 12 times, while driving in 11. His on-base percentage is .352 and he has played in 20 games.
