Wood Batters Rutgers for 6 Hits Monday, April 5th , 2055 6 hits in a game is a rare thing, but Iowa's Don Wood made it happen against the Scarlet Knights. Everything came together at the plate for the 20-year-old first baseman as he collected 6 hits in 6 at-bats -- and helped the Hawkeyes triumph, 13-11, at Bainton Field. "I'm just out there to try and help the team win," Wood said after the game, "I had some real good at-bats. I made good, solid contact and luckily no one caught 'em." Don Wood singled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Travis Kirk in the 5th, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
