Four-bagger Feast: Burkett Slugs 3 for Notre Dame Saturday, April 29th , 2051 Fans are still buzzing after Notre Dame whipped the Stanford Cardinal by the score of 10-9 today at Sunken Diamond. Adam Burkett smashed three home runs in the contest, a feat that would be a career highlight for most players and few fans ever see. In a tremendous performance, the first baseman bashed out 3 hits in 6 at-bats, had 5 RBIs and scored 3 times. At the postgame press conference, Burkett said it was an "unbelievable" feeling to hit three home runs in a game. "Getting one homer is special, and two is great," Burkett said. "Three is just... wow." Adam Burkett hit a two-run home run off Kevin Martin in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Kevin Martin in the 3rd, struck out in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Peter Rice in the 6th, grounded out in the 8th, flied out in the 9th and walked in the 11th.
