Brand Sizzles with 20-Game Batting Streak Sunday, April 30th , 2051 Jim Brand's bat has been smoking lately, and it continued today as he went 3-for-4 in a 11-6 Ohio State Buckeyes triumph over the Providence Friars at Bill Davis Stadium. The 20-year-old center fielder has now hit safely in 20 consecutive games for the Buckeyes. Jim Brand singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Luis Fernández in the 4th, walked in the 6th and grounded out in the 7th. So far this season Brand has gotten 51 hits in 116 at-bats for a .440 batting average with 4 home runs. His stats include 29 RBIs and 24 runs scored. He has played in 31 games. |
