Dispatching with a solid Mesa club in the decisive final game of the tournament, there was little debate left about their legitimacy. Grand Canyon took the tournament finale over Mesa by a final margin of 4-2. "We had the pitching, we had the hitting and we had the defense," manager Arthur Moore said.
