Big Day with Bat: Matthews 5-for-6
Brant Matthews had an answer for everything the Indiana Hoosiers threw at him at Sembower Field. The Purdue left fielder went 5-for-6 in the game to put his name in the record book and give the Boilermakers a win, 11-6.

Summing up his batting philosophy to BNN writers after the game, Matthews said, "I just see the ball and I hit it."

Brant Matthews struck out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Darby Bruce in the 9th and hit an RBI single in the 10th.

So far this season, Matthews has 24 home runs and a .382 batting average.
