Shirley on Fire, 5-for-7 Against El Paso
It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Bob Shirley -- a 5-hit day. He went on a rampage and sparkled on the diamond at Fat Cats Park, but the performance lost a little luster when the Fat Cats were downed, 25-23, by the El Paso Diablos.

After his glittering performance, the Ottawa left fielder told the press that he "just tried to get myself in a good count and have a good at-bat."

His batting theory paid dividends today as he slammed 5 hits in 7 tries and put his name in the record book.

"I just wish we had added a win in the record book, too," Shirley said.

Bob Shirley struck out in the 1st, walked in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, flied out in the 5th, singled in the 7th, hit a two-run home run off Ignacio Hernández in the 8th, hit a three-run triple in the 9th and singled in the 10th.
