Dukes Move on to Round 2
Wednesday, September 9th , 2054
The fans in Santa Anna are delirious, while there is little joy to be found in Atlantic City.
The Santa Anna Dukes finished off the Atlantic City War Dogs 6-3 in the deciding game of the Round 1 played at Trump Arena.
They took the series 4-3 and will now head to the Round 2.
For his standout play, Santa Anna center fielder Bill Platt was voted the series' Most Valuable Player.
He batted .355, drove in 3 runs and scored 7 to lead his club to victory.
"We could never really figure out how to pitch to Platt and that doomed us," said War Dogs manager James Edwards. "Hats off to Santa Anna, though. That was a great series."
The Santa Anna Dukes will play against the El Paso Diablos in the next round. El Paso won their series against the Hartford Darth Whalers 4 games to 0. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
