A jubilant Danny Davis joined the postgame press conference at Eagle Squadron Ballpark today to offer some unusual words of encouragement -- for the Roy Eagle Squadron pitching staff he had just vanquished.

"It may not have looked like it," said the Wrexham Dragons right fielder, "but I saw some awful good pitches today. If luck hadn't been on my side it might have turned out a lot different."

That would not have been the conclusion of anyone who saw his dominant 5-for-6 hitting performance, which led the Dragons to a 30-11 win.

"He made it look easy," said , manager of the Eagle Squadron. "We never figured out what to do with him. Obviously."

Danny Davis walked in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Josh Bell in the 3rd, hit a two-run single in the 4th, struck out in the 6th, hit a two-run home run off Miguel Suárez in the 7th, walked in the 8th and hit a two-run single in the 9th.

So far this season Davis has put up a .425 batting average with 54 hits, 17 home runs and 47 RBIs.
