Darth Whalers Show No Mercy in 13-0 Thrashing of Diablos
Irving Walter of the Hartford Darth Whalers spun his magic on the El Paso Diablos today. He blanked them 13-0 on 4 hits, registering 7 strikeouts and 1 walk.

"The bottom line was I just kept the ball down," Walter said. "My breaking stuff was down. Everything was down."

Talking to reporters in the postgame interview, Hartford skipper Ron Owen said the team "got solid pitching, good defense and took great team at-bats in a lot of different situations."

"Irving pitched really well but this was a solid performance by everyone," he said.

Walter has taken the mound for no relief appearances this season, nailing down no saves while notching a 16-6 record with a 4.98 ERA. The Hartford reliever has limited opposing batters to a .239 batting average.
