Utes Prevail, as Sweet Sixteen Goes to the Wire
It went the distance, but the Utah Utes finally disposed of the Texas Christian Horned Frogs 7-2 in the series clincher at Spring Mobile Ballpark.

Winning the finale gave the Utes the series, 2-1. They will now advance to the Elite 8.

The Most Valuable Player Award went to Utah shortstop Tony Edwards. He batted .385 in the series, collecting 2 RBIs and scoring 3 runs.

"Tony deserves it," said Utes manager Eric Johnson. "He was the glue that held our club together."

The Elite 8 matchups and schedule will be announced after the Sweet Sixteen finishes.
