Admirals Clip Yetis 3-2 in FF Contest
|
With starter Vic Niekro leading the charge, the Seattle Admirals defeated the Yonkers Yetis, 3-2, in Game 3 of the Final Four today. The left-hander threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball at The Ballpark at Sloss Furnace to help Seattle take a 2-1 lead in the best-of-7 series.
Seattle relied on the hitting of Salvador Alou to pick up the win. The left fielder clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Admirals on top, 3-0. For the game, Alou had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
Niekro attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at The Ballpark at Sloss Furnace in Yonkers.
