Barnes Batters Alabama Big Time

It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-5 day. For many, it might come around only once in a career -- and for Scott Barnes, it came around today.
The 19-year-old first baseman scattered hits all over Fat Cats Park to pace the Ottawa Fat Cats to a 5-4 victory over the Alabama Shakes.
Alabama skipper told reporters in the press room that "Barnes deserves a hat-tip."
"He hit some good pitches against us," he said. "In fact, according to our scouting reports, Barnes hit several that he is not supposed to be able to hit."
Scott Barnes singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
Barnes is batting .295 with 10 home runs and 27 RBIs this season.
