Perkins Bashes 5 Base Hits
|
All game long, Mountain Pointe HS's Tex Perkins was rattling the walls at Ballpark of The Hills HS and banging out base hits against the Broken Arrow HS Threshers. When the dust finally settled on the diamond, he had a 5-hit day and the Defenders had a win, 12-3.
Speaking with reporters after his standout performance, the 14-year-old right fielder said, "Get 5 hits, win a ballgame, it's nice. I could get used to this."
Tex Perkins flied out in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th, doubled in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.
This season, Perkins is swinging the bat at a .373 rate with 22 hits in 59 at-bats. To date he has hit 2 home runs, scored 14 runs and driven in 14.
