5-for-5 Game for Stanton
|
Santa Ana HS first baseman Sean Stanton went down swinging at Field of the Torchmen, knocking out 5 hits even as his Braves fell, 14-11.
"It was like I was hitting Little League pitching," Stanton said after his 5-for-5 performance against the Tacoma HS Torchmen. "No offense meant to Tacoma HS, but it was like I was back in little league again -- I could see the ball that well."
After the game, his manager elaborated on the first baseman's improvements, saying Stanton spent the offseason trying to shorten his swing and stay inside the ball.
"That's what I'm trying to do," Stanton agreed. "Be quick to the ball and let it travel a little farther so I get a better look at it."
Sean Stanton singled in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Bob Allison in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 9th.
Stanton is hitting at a .500 mark this season. His stats show 2 home runs, 6 RBIs and 3 runs scored. He has played 5 games for the Braves.
