Great Stroke: Cox Gets 5 Hits
John Cox put on a hitting clinic as the Oceanside HS Pirates dumped the Butler HS Tornado, 21-4, at Pelham Manor HS Grounds.

The Oceanside HS left fielder made Butler HS defenders earn their pay, lashing Butler HS pitching for 5 hits in 7 at-bats in the game. He told BNN reporters after the game that his strategy was "just hit it where they pitched it."

"Too often I try too hard to pull the ball," Cox said in his postgame press conference. "Today, I just went with the pitch."

John Cox hit a two-run home run off Michael Mitchell in the 2nd, struck out in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 5th, struck out in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit an RBI double in the 8th.

Thus far this year, Cox is hitting .500 with 3 home runs, 9 RBIs and 9 runs scored.
