Hines Torches Golden Bears for 5 Hits
Neil Hines was at the head of a Buchanan HS hit parade at Lincolnville HS Fields. The third baseman went to the plate 5 times and came away with 5 hits, sparking the Wizards to a nice 17-11 victory over the Billings West HS Golden Bears.

"I told the guys in the dugout, just be thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere," the sweet-swinging Hines told reporters after the game. "Seems like it worked out well for us today."

Golden Bears skipper Bill Jordan said later that the club gave up "too much plate."

"Not the way we planned it," he said. "Every hitter in the league will rip you when you do that."

Neil Hines hit a solo-shot off Leslie Nelson in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, hit a two-run single in the 5th and hit a three-run home run off Jorge Guerra in the 7th.

This year, Hines has socked 34 hits in 99 at-bats for a .343 average with 11 home runs. He is getting on base at a .455 pace and his totals also include 32 RBIs and 29 runs scored.
