It was a sensational day at the plate for Rob Young as he led the charge to a nifty 17-11 win over the Parrots. The Buchanan HS first baseman was pure misery for the Wichita HS pitching staff. He left them shell-shocked with 5 hits in 6 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting.

"Young put the ball into play and he really hit it hard," said Artie Smith, manager for the Parrots, after the game. "When you do that, you've got a good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw some good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball."

Rob Young hit a two-run home run off Paco Santana in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, walked in the 7th and flied out in the 8th.

This year, Young is hitting .352 with 9 home runs and 27 RBIs in 33 games played. He also boasts an OBP of .473 with 28 walks and 32 runs scored.
