Danila Slaps 5 Hits
5 hits in 5 at-bats. It doesn't happen every day, and when it does, it's exciting. Today, Alecu Danila of the St. Louis HS White Sox had a sensational game against Oceanside HS at U.S. Cellular Field. He rifled base hits all over the ballpark in his team's 20-7 shellacking of the Pirates.

In the postgame press conference, he joked that he was going to take the rest of the week off.

"I did all my hitting in one day -- what else do they want from me?" he said with a laugh.

Alecu Danila hit a two-run home run off John Adams in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, walked in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Ed Harvey in the 6th and hit a two-run triple in the 8th.

Thus far this season, Danila is hitting .366 with 11 home runs, 36 RBIs and 39 runs scored. He has 48 hits in 131 at-bats and has played in 35 games.
