5-Hit Blitz by Long Sunday, June 2nd, 2041 The Boston Rebels stopped the Oklahoma CowEaters by a score of 14-11 at Great American Wallpark today, with the lion's share of the credit going to first baseman Tony Long. The 35-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits. "Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Long said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard." Long did just that in his 6 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the CowEaters. "Not much that I can say," offered Oklahoma manager Bob Sears. "He just hammered the heck out of us." Tony Long hit an RBI single in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, doubled in the 8th, hit an RBI double in the 9th and walked in the 10th.
