Gardner Dominates Ducks in 7-0 Shutout Monday, May 3rd , 2055 Chris Gardner kept the Long Island Ducks hitters from doing much damage at Cougar Den. Long Island could only muster 3 hits and draw no walks against the left-handed Gardner, who controlled them throughout the game. Fresno won the contest, 7-0. Gardner added 10 strikeouts in his complete-game effort. "I don't know if I was on or if they were off today," Gardner told reporters after the shutout win. "But whatever it was, I hope it happens again next time." This year, Gardner has a 4-2 mark in 6 starts with a 5.54 ERA. He has given up 33 hits in 37.1 innings, struck out 34 and issued 7 walks.
