Racers Green Fans 16 Esquires Thursday, May 11th , 2051 Del Mar Racers starter Matt Green brought his best stuff to Berry Field today against the Eau Claire Esquires, striking out 16 batters in his club's 6-1 victory. In a strong performance, the 21-year-old Green gave up 2 hits in his 8 innings of work and issued no walks. "I felt good out there," he said after the game. "My fastball had a lot of life and my slider was sharp. It was giving hitters fits and working well for me." Taking a look at his season, Green has made no relief appearances, recorded no saves and compiled a 6-0 won-lost mark and a 3.31 ERA.
