Sweet Sixteen Goes the Distance, Nebraska Prevails Sunday, May 28th , 2051 Nebraska Cornhuskers won a nail-biting series against the Washington Huskies 2-1, wrapping up the Sweet Sixteen finale 5-3 at Husky Ballpark. Cornhuskers third baseman Artie Bennett was named the series MVP. He batted .375, drove in 1 runs and scored 2 to lead Nebraska into the next round of play. "Artie was real solid for us, real solid," said Cornhuskers manager Dave Wilson. "I normally say I'd like to have nine of him out there, but thankfully we got by with just one this time."
