5-for-5 Day for Sackett
Friday, May 13th , 2050
The Rutgers Scarlet Knights stopped the Creighton Blue Jays by a score of 15-7 at Bass Ballpark today, with the lion's share of the credit going to left fielder Pat Sackett. The 19-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits.
"Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Sackett said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard."
Sackett did just that in his 5 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Blue Jays.
"Not much that I can say," offered Creighton manager Iván Salas. "He just hammered the heck out of us."
Pat Sackett doubled in the 1st, hit a GRAND SLAM off Christian Mays in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off Ron Becker in the 6th and walked in the 9th.
Sackett has a .400 average and a .461 on-base percentage for the year. He has picked up 64 hits, 12 home runs and driven in 33 runs.
