Brown on Fire: 6-for-6 for Illinois
Wednesday, May 20th , 2054
It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Tim Brown -- a 6-hit effort. He went on a rampage at Bailey-Brayton Field and paced the 24-2 Fighting Illini win over the Washington State Cougars.
After his dynamite batting performance, the Illinois shortstop told reporters that he "just tried to get in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control."
His philosophy paid dividends today. He slammed 6 hits in 6 tries and put his name in the record book. Tim Brown singled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, singled in the 6th, walked in a run in the 7th, walked in the 8th and singled in the 9th.
Brown is hitting .325 this season with 3 home runs, 19 RBIs and 31 runs scored. He has 53 hits in 163 at-bats.
