Consecutive-Game Hit Streak Continues for Jones Saturday, April 1st , 2051 Gary Jones, shortstop for the Michigan Wolverines, ran his consecutive-game hitting streak to 20 games with 1 hit in his club's 9-0 victory today over the Rutgers Scarlet Knights at Ray Fisher Stadium today. "I don't really know why it's even happening," he said with a grin after the game. "So asking me how long I can keep it up is kind of irrelevant. It'll end when it ends." Gary Jones singled in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, struck out in the 4th, walked in the 6th and grounded out in the 7th. So far this year Jones has hit .421 with no home runs, 4 RBIs and 8 runs scored. |
