Connor Blisters Louisville Tuesday, May 2nd , 2051 It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Tom Connor today -- a 5-hit effort. He went on a rampage at Jim Patterson Stadium and paced the Scarlet Knights to a 13-10 win over the Louisville Cardinals. After his dynamite batting performance, the Rutgers right fielder told reporters that he "just tried to get in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His philosophy paid dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 7 tries and put his name in the record book. Tom Connor singled in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 7th, hit an RBI single in the 8th, hit an RBI double in the 10th and singled in the 12th. This season Connor has banged out 43 hits in 143 at-bats for a .301 average with 6 home runs. He is getting on base at a .373 pace and his totals also include 34 RBIs and 28 runs scored.
