Super Swinger -- Morán Slams 5 Hits Friday, April 16th , 2055 A jubilant Juan Morán joined the postgame press conference at Minute Maid Park to offer some unusual words of encouragement -- for the Rockford HS Astros pitching staff he had just vanquished. "It may not have looked like it," said the Bishop Verot HS Mudcats right fielder, "but I saw some awful good pitches today. If luck hadn't been on my side it might have turned out a lot different." That would not have been the conclusion of anyone who saw his dominant 5-for-6 hitting performance, which led to the 25-8 Mudcats win. "He made it look easy," said Juan López, manager of the Astros. "We never figured out what to do with him. Obviously." Juan Morán singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, hit a two-run double in the 5th, struck out in the 6th and walked in the 7th.
