Green Parks 3 for Colorado Springs HS Wednesday, May 7th , 2053 Joe Green went on an explosive hitting spree against the Terra Linda HS Trojans at Sidewinders Ballpark, launching a trio of blasts to help the Colorado Springs HS 76ers win, 11-10. The right fielder finished 3-for-5 with 3 runs scored and 7 RBI. "It was just one of those days," Green said in a postgame interview. "I don't know how to explain it. I'm just putting a good swing on the ball." Terra Linda HS skipper Rafael Salas said Green was "locked-in." "We made some pretty good pitches," he said. "Those first two homers were exactly where the pitcher wanted to put them. He's just hot right now -- you've just got to tip your hat to him." Joe Green hit a three-run home run off Danny Ortega in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Danny Ortega in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th, struck out in the 8th and hit a two-run home run off Larry Bolden in the 9th. Green is hitting .351 this year with 18 home runs and 44 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .424, 16 walks and scored 38 times. |
