Monster 3-HR Day for Douglas Saturday, May 1st , 2055 Fans are still buzzing after Jeffersonville HS whipped the Broken Arrow HS Threshers by the score of 25-13 at Ballpark of Sterling HS. Jerome Douglas smashed three home runs in the contest, a feat that would be a career highlight for most players and few fans ever see. In a tremendous performance, the right fielder bashed out 4 hits in 5 at-bats, had 9 RBIs and scored 5 times. At the postgame press conference, Douglas said it was an "unbelievable" feeling to hit three home runs in a game. "Getting one homer is special, and two is great," Douglas said. "Three is just... wow." Jerome Douglas struck out in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Wayne Robertson in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Dan Towns in the 5th, walked in the 7th and hit a three-run home run off Charles Davis in the 8th. This year, Douglas has batted at a .281 pace with 32 hits, 6 home runs, 29 RBIs and scored 23 times. |
