Thomas Pounds 3 HR Saturday, May 8th , 2055 Grand Rapids HS Summit left fielder Mike Thomas had a magnificent game against the Wichita HS Parrots, rocketing three balls out of Ballpark of Grand Rapids HS to help the Summit win, 18-11. "I got some good pitches to hit and I creamed them," he said after the game. "The first was a big, fat fastball and the last two were hanging curves. All three were mistakes." For the game, Thomas went 3-for-6 with 6 RBIs and 3 runs scored. "There's a fine line between hitting home runs and line drives," Grand Rapids HS manager Asher Zasko said later. "Seems like Mike found his home run stroke today." Mike Thomas struck out in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Jorge Padilla in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Dewey Gardner in the 5th, flied out in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off Zach Cameron in the 8th. In his season totals, Thomas has 12 home runs, .384 BA, .467 OBP, 38 RBIs and 34 runs scored. He has played in 39 games. |
