Jenkins Parks 3 for Newark HS Tuesday, April 19th , 2050 Mike Jenkins was sending souvenirs to the sun gods all game long in the 12-2 Newark HS Rush triumph at Rush Stadium today. The 14-year-old put on a show for fans, launching not one, not two, but three home runs into the stands and powering the Rush past the Tulsa HS Admirals. "One homer's good, two's great, three's out of sight," Jenkins told BNN reporters after the game. "I can't wait until next game. I really feel good at the plate." The shortstop went 4-for-5, rung up 4 RBIs and scored 4 runs on his record-setting day. Mike Jenkins hit a two-run home run off Hamaspyur Young in the 2nd, singled in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Gregory Martin in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Gregory Martin in the 7th and struck out in the 8th. Jenkins is hitting .323 for the season with 4 home runs, 10 RBIs and 9 runs scored. He has 20 hits in 62 at-bats and played in 21 games. |
