3 Boomers for Washington Sunday, April 24th , 2050 It was a good day for the Huntsville HS Wasps and an exceptional one for Ryan Washington. The 16-year-old first baseman sent three bombs out of the park to help the Wasps beat the Indianapolis HS Stallions 16-12 at Stallions Ballpark. "When you're in the zone, the game really slows down," Washington said when asked about his performance later. "I couldn't even tell you what pitches were thrown. Today feels great, but it is a long season and tomorrow is another day." For the day, he scored 3 times, drove in 8 runs and smacked 3 hits in 4 at-bats. Ryan Washington hit a three-run home run off Bob Hughes in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Fernando Hernández in the 4th and hit a two-run home run off Gavrel Unjakov in the 5th. Presently Washington is hitting .376 with 6 home runs and 19 RBIs. He has played in 26 games and scored 22 times. |
